New Georgetown Partnership Conference in Poland

The All-American Model United Nation Program is excited to announce a new partnership with the Georgetown International Relations Association (GIRA), host of the North American Invitational Model UN conference (NAIMUN). From June 22-24, 2018, we will be co-hosting a competitive three-day conference in Warsaw, Poland focusing on NATO and the international security apparatus. The goals of the NATO Security Simulation include emphasizing the interdependent nature of national security, highlighting the increased importance of technology, and providing an in-depth, accurate portrayal the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

While many conferences run NATO simulations as a single committee, the NATO Security Simulations explores the inner workings of NATO as a larger and more complex organization. The conference will act as a full-scale simulation of the various bodies of NATO and place a particular emphasis on the promotion of international security and NATO’s relationship with non-NATO governments. In this exciting new structure delegates will debate issues including Mutual Defense in Eastern Europe, Cyber Security and Cyber attack Response Policy, and NATO’s involvement with Afghanistan.

The first half of the conference will challenge delegates to design comprehensive NATO policies for each topic. The second half of the conference will force NATO to utilize their new policies in a fully-planned war game and defense simulation.
