Individual Attention & Feedback
Every student who attends an All-American Model UN Academy receives one-on-one feedback and coaching every day. All-American Model UN has the smallest student-to-staff ratio for Model UN summer programs. Students complete our Academies equipped with tools, tactics, and strategies that are guaranteed to improve performance.
Leadership Development
The overwhelming majority of our students either are in student leadership positions or assume leadership roles within a year of completing All-American Model UN Academies. Our programs stress four key components of leadership: emotional intelligence, pattern recognition, preparation, and advocacy.
Proven Track Record
All-American Model UN has been coaching student teams since 2011. Our teams have won Best Delegation in 98% of the conferences that we have participated in, with 90% of our students winning individual accolades. We have represented the US at conferences in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Our US travel team is considered one of the country’s best teams. We practice what we teach.

Our Dedicated Coaching Team
Our professional coaching team is dedicated to working with our students, giving daily individual feedback. All workshops are led by full-time staff with a combined 60+ years of experience in Model UN. All of our coaches have competed on the high school and collegiate circuits.
Frank Pobutkiewicz
Executive Director and Lead Instructor
Frank is the founder of All-American Model UN. He has coached over 1,000 students and led the All-American Model UN team to the Best Delegation award in 42 of 45 conferences they have attended.
Sarah Schwartz
VP Operations and Programs
Sarah has been a member of the All-American Model UN professional team since 2019. She is the Head Coach of our top-ranked travel team. Sarah graduated from Vanderbilt University, where she was the head delegate of their competitive travel team.
Jason Salguero
Associate Program Director
Jason Salguero is an Associate Program Director for All-American Model United Nations and a graduate of Florida International University. At FIU, Jason served as the Secretary-General for their high school conference and served as a Head Delegate. Jason graduated with a BA in International Relations, Political Science, and Philosophy, and also earned a certification in Law, Ethics, and Society. They are a published author and deeply passionate about international relations, philosophy, and their intersection.
Mitran Kumar
Associate Program Director, Academy Coach
Mitran graduated from Andover High School (MA) before matriculating at The George Washington University. He was a three-year member of the All-American Model UN varsity travel team and served as a head delegate in his senior year. At GW, Mitran competes with their collegiate travel team, winning awards at multiple collegiate conferences.
Collin Dwyer
Summer Academy Coach
Collin is a fourth-year student at Rice University, triple-majoring in Astrophysics, Mathematical Economic Analysis, and Philosophy. While in high school, Collin was a four-year member of the All-American Model UN team, winning multiple gavels in the US and abroad. Collin has served as the head delegate and President of the Model UN organization at Rice, as well as the founding Secretary-General of RiceMUN.
My week at the Diplomacy Academy was invaluable to my time doing Model UN in high school. I entered with very little experience, and after I completed the Academy, I started winning awards at conferences hosted by Georgetown and Cornell. The Diplomacy Academy changed my life.

Diplomacy Academy at AU Program Overview
June 14 – June 20, 2026
The All-American Model UN Diplomacy Academy is our longest-running summer program. Since 2012, we have helped students improve critical skills related to Model UN and beyond. Our lessons focus on teaching and practicing lifelong skills, including public speaking, researching, policy analysis, negotiating, and time management.
We believe Model UN is a powerful vehicle for engaging student passion, and it can be leveraged to empower students to succeed not only at Model UN conferences but also in school and career.
By the end of the week, students will be able to:
- Analyze foreign policies of different countries and develop comprehensive solutions to international issues
- Construct long-form presentations, lead question and answer periods, and feel more comfortable making impromptu speeches
- Understand the patterns of debate in Model UN and pass a Model UN procedure quiz
Lessons Include:
- Researching and solution development for Model UN conferences
- Formal speech and presentation construction
- Writing and amending Model UN draft resolutions
- Model UN procedure, vocabulary, and debate flow
- Bloc leadership and managing a team

Day 7 (Saturday) – Pickup and Departure
Stay for the Crisis Academy at AU!
Over 50% of students who enroll in the Diplomacy Academy at BU stay for the Crisis Academy the following week. Over 95% of students completing both weeks are admitted to our travel team. The Crisis Academy focuses on smaller committee types, including specialized agencies and crisis committees. Mastering traditional GA-style committees and crisis committees empowers students to compete successfully at any conference.

This approach has paid dividends, as our travel team has shown. Since 2011, our teams have won team awards at 38 of 40 conferences we have attended with our students.
Outside of Model UN, our students achieve remarkable success in music, robotics, speech and debate, DECA/FLBA, mock trial, and more. Over 85% of our students attend top 75 universities, and 33% gain admissions to Ivy League schools, Stanford, the University of Chicago, and Georgetown University.
