Dear friends,
The end of the war has seen the beginning of a lucrative time for us and our interests. In addition, we welcome back our friends Vito and Lucky back from their exiles. It has been many years since we have all sat together to discuss our interests and the most efficient way for us all to manage them.
To that end, I would like to invite you all to the Hotel Nacional in Havana, Cuba, in three weeks, to discuss several very important matters. Perhaps chief among these matters are the control and management of various and numerous hotel and gambling operations throughout the Greater Havana area, which continues to become ever more profitable as increasing numbers of tourists come to enjoy the beautiful country that is Cuba — and enjoy the many “activities” it has to offer.
In addition, some of you have expressed your interest in discussing the organization of the narcotics trade across America. While some of you may be opposed to the trade, there are some who have connections to obtaining product, while others have the means to transport, receive, and distribute it throughout the country. By working together we can all significantly increase our profits.
Many of you have also expressed your concerns regarding the difficulties experienced in the development of the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, being overseen by our friend Bugsy Siegel. I know that I have asked many of you to make sizable investments into this project in the expectation of significant returns. It is my hope that we will have a fruitful discussion on this issue, and that I will be able to solve all of your concerns.
Finally, I believe we should also address any concerns and issues any of you may have. Now is the time to address them, so that we may all get back to the task of running our businesses.
I look forward to seeing you all in three weeks.
Meyer Lansky
