Everyone loves new experiences. Something refined and something different. That’s exactly how I would describe the Summer Diplomacy Academy to anyone who is accepted into the All-American training program.
Two years ago, I happened to have attended the Academy, learning about MUN and diplomacy under the guidance of Frank, the All-American founder and director.
Last year I assisted in teaching at the Academy, adding exciting insight and a new perspective on how teaching and coaching truly worked.
This year I am excited to announce that I will be the Director of the Diplomacy Academy, and I could not be more thrilled. The Academy isn’t just a “camp” over the summer to get better at MUN. The Academy I attended two years ago was easily the one of the best weeks of my life. From learning MUN to making friends, each aspect of the Academy was new and different than anything you would have ever expected.
Some days would start off with a walking tour of Boston to learn the historical context. Other days started off with a ferry to explore local islands. Most days started off with a MUN simulation or lesson or research project. Whatever we had to do, it got done and gave everyone a sense of accomplishment.
While learning about MUN for a week straight could have been boring, the Diplomacy Academy is so much more. It is a way to garner long lasting friendships. It is a way to learn about many different regions of the world. It is a way to learn about international relations and a way to have fun. The academy has always been much more than a camp. Rather, has been the experience of a lifetime.
For my third year I cannot wait to be your Academy Director. Teaching and educating what I love seems like the perfect dream come true.
