Position Overview

All-American Model UN supports and promotes the high school Model United Nations community in the United States. Since its founding in 2011, hundreds of students have successfully passed through our programs. Our main program offerings include our summer training academies, US competitive travel team, international travel team, UNMOD: The Magainze, and additional educational resources.

The Associate Director of Education would be responsible for the curation, creation, and promotion of teaching materials for the Model UN community. This role would oversee the UNMOD: The Magainze originally publication, as well as various special projects related to Model UN training. These projects may include creating a parent information portal, producing downloadable resources, writing topic briefs and designing simulations, curating a teacher education dashboard, and managing a new weekly Model UN curriculum project. The work of the Associate Director of Education will affect thousands of students and teachers.

Hours/Duration: The expected hours for this position are approximately 10 hours/week for a duration of one year.

Compensation: $600/month + incentives based on content produced, up to $2000/mo. As the Associate Director of Education, you’ll also be given priority to mentor for the summer academies, US-travel teams, and international programs.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee the strategic direction and metrics-based reports for UNMOD: The Magazine, in conjunction with the publication’s editor-in-chief.
  • Work with the All-American Model UN professional team to develop new educational products to support new students, experienced students, student leaders, teachers, and parents.
  • Manage a new educational tool that will provide weekly training accessible to students and teachers around the world, scheduled to launch in September 2022.
  • Design Model UN simulations for All-American Model UN to use during student training.
  • Have a meaningful impact on the overall direction of All-American Model UN.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience in competitive, US Model United Nations
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and Slack
  • Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to create long-form written content
  • Experience teaching or coaching Model United Nations preferred either as a mentor, head delegate, or some other leadership capacity
  • Proof of COVID vaccination and booster
  • Knowledge of and passion for Model United Nations
